it's time for a meme again. Please ask things. I like being asked things. Thanks! Ask any or all of them and I'll answer as best I can.

In the late 90s, my friend Barbie sent me a box of home copied videos of season 1 of Babylon 5 along with copies of the guidebooks for each season. SciFi tv was showing an episode every night at 7 as well. And boom, I was hooked!

I hung out online at a chat place called Delphi Forums back then and I joined a group led by a guy named Mike Helba. I helped run it for several years. I believe that Mike might have been one of the people who began DragonCon in Atlanta. He was a great guy and I've lost touch over the years, but he was instrumental in the making of a fangirl - I learned how to run and moderate chatrooms and how to run message boards from working with him. I also have a 12 inch Garibaldi that he gave me asa thank you for helping him out.

I have added many fandoms over the years but I've never left babylon 5. At the current time, I run three communities here on DW (And LJas well) - [community profile] babylon5_love, [community profile] universe_today and [community profile] b5_revisited, all communities made by [personal profile] ruuger, who wanted to step away from running them.

While B5 is an old television show, it is not dead. New fans come to the show all the time - it reminds me of Tolkien. It is a large body of work that has an actual story arc that plays out over 5 years. There are books and spinoffs as well.

It's also a friendly fandom. I invite any of you looking for something new to come give B5 a look. We might even be doing a new rewatch beginning at [community profile] b5_revisited.
