My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Since I've been reading Nancy Drew, I decided to give the Hardy Boys a go too. I actually liked them quite a lot. The writing was better in the Nancy Drew books but the story was a good one. I've read several reviews that laugh about the words and terms of the time and I found those things only served to make the book more charming. Gotta love 'fellows' especially. Oh and jalopy. I haven't heard car called jalopy since surfer movies when I was kid.
I think that though the language is a little dated, the story holds up and the message is positive. Very little real violence and the good guys always win!

Day 14 - Romeo and Juliet
Feb. 14th, 2018 08:54 amI remember seeing this movie in the 70s... I was maybe 13 or so and I cried until I could barely breathe. While it is more tragedy than romance, I always loved the scene in the photo.

Oh and the actors are Olivia Hussey and Leonard Whiting. They were only 16 and 17 when they filmed the movie and there was much ado over their nude scene, the wedding night scene.

Feb. 10th, 2018 08:00 amI took my mom to see Brokeback Mountain and several days later she said, "I can't get that movie off of my mind. It's the saddest thing I've sever seen. I can't believe that it's wrong for people to love one another."

Somewhere I have a Brokeback Mountain story... it sort of ends the whole thing and it could be one of the best things I've ever written. I couldn't foind it so I posted it at Ao3:A Friend of Mine.
