Heard this today as I rode home from a fruitless trip to Elkin and it pleased me.

As Jimmy Buffet once said in a song "I'm just glad I don't live in a trailer."

Um.....

I don't think any insult to DT is too vulgar or awful so here is Michelle Wolf. Since when can you not insult a politician? or an arsehole? It serves the bastard right, if you ask me.

I went to see Avengers: Infinity War. I fanned a good bit and am working on a story.

Here is Cap.

A photo of my grandfather from sometime in the 1910s. He is in the back row, third from the left.

I am reading this book for my cozy club: Bundle of Trouble by Diana Orgain. A new mom investigates her crazy BIL and finds more than she bargained for. I could do without this nee mom junk... I actually am not all that thrilled with it. It is the book for May.

Our next book at the [community profile] getyourwordsout is a M/M romance, which I also am not thrilled about.

Argh!

The only poem I can remember writing. Though I love it more than any other type of writing, i do not write it. This is from 1999. Of course, the tyger bit is from my favorite poem, "The Tyger" by Blake.

STAGE DOOR JOHNNY

rehearsal
friend of a friend of a friend of SOMEONE
meeting
shaking hands..hellos..hi’s
there he is
the way he moves-his legs, his hips
[tyger, tyger burning bright..]
shake hands - fire licks up my arm
crooked smile, arched eyebrow
“after this?”
I whisper “yes” breathless

hotel room
champagne
kiss-sweet..hungry..demanding
t-shirt in heap on floor
his skin still burns
buttons, zippers, hooks melt away
mouth to mouth
skin to skin
two pounding hearts
one perfect juncture
flames lick, blaze ,consume
[tyger, tyger burning bright..]

Did anyone see Inside Llewyn Davis? It was a wonderful little movie about a folk singer played by Oscar Isaac(Poe Dameron in the Star Wars movies) and this is one of the songs he sang. He is doing here in concert with Marcus Mumford, another wonderfully talented young man. The song is called Dink's Song or Fare Thee Well and is an old folk song.

I am reading this book:

Dead Wrong by Leighann Dobbs for my Cozy Mystery group. It's not to bad. It's the first of a series and the Kindle Edition free right now at Amazon. It's pretty short and is a quick read.

Have any of you joined this site? Book Crossing? It's a way to 'release books into the wild'. I'm thinking of trying it. If you're interested as well, let me know and I'll add you to my friends there. I believe one can ask for books there as well...

Here are three oil paintings I was working on back in 2004. LOTR - not great but okay.

Bob's genius blows me away every time i listen to his songs. He once told Ed Bradley that those early songs were 'almost magically written'.

Here is a little magic for you.

I struggle with this one because having lost all my family except Larry, and having so many health struggles that there is nothing to be done for and for some other reasons, I feel more like Job than not some days.

There are so many things I want to do and can't anymore simply because of physical limitations.

Some days it's just hard to find things to be thankful for.

I am still here, though, and I am still fighting and I am still more angry at the injustices done to others than my own fate so I guess that is something to be thankful for.

I resist, I speak out. I am angry and I mean to misbehave... always. Those ARE actually things I am thankful for and glad to do!

I have loved his music forever.

Van Morrison is from Northern Ireland and began his career in the late 50s. You can read about him here:

He has a website as well and still tours and has a new album coming out April 27th.

I finally finished watching Doctor Who this week. I am a tad behind. I actually watched the first few episodes of Season 1 several times before I could work up any interest at all. And the 12th Doctor... I was very slow to love him but He blew me away several times.

"Am I a good man?" He asked Clara... and that seemed to be his theme.

He did the things he did 'without hope, without witness, without reward.'

Here is the speech he made to the two masters at the end of Season 10:

“Hey! I’m going to be dead in a few hours, so before I go, let’s have this out,” The Doctor tells them.

“You and me, once and for all. Winning? Is that what you think it’s about? I’m not trying to win. I’m not doing this because I want to beat someone — or because I hate someone, or because I want to blame someone. It’s not because it’s fun. God knows it’s not because it’s easy. It’s not even because it works, because it hardly ever does. I do what I do because it’s right! Because it’s decent! And above all, it’s kind!

“It’s just that. Just kind. If I run away today, good people will die. If I stand and fight, some of them might live — maybe not many, maybe not for long. Hey, maybe there’s no point in any of this at all, but it’s the best I can do. So I’m going to do it, and I will stand here doing it until it kills me. You’re going to die, too, someday. When will that be? Have you thought about it? What would you die for?

“Who I am is where I stand. Where I stand is where I fall. Stand with me. These people are terrified. Maybe we can help a little. Why not, just at the end, just be kind?”

Here is a lovely montage video I found.

Here is a little elf slash from 2003. I have not painted or drawn much since Sara died. I keep saying I will but then I don't.

I was a Marshal at the graduation of the class of 1977 - I am the one on the bottom right. I'm pretty sure Mama made my dress.

I am very late getting this one done tonight.

I am reading 3 books at one time:

Survival of the Fritters byu Ginger Bolton is our March Cozy Mystery at my Facebook group. I am behind in it but I wanted to finish before I move on to the next one. I young widow runs a donuts shop with her father-in-law and well, she decides to solve a murder. NOt vewry remarkable so far but pleasnt to read.

A Wizard of Earthsea is one I am reading for my Get Your Word Out club and so far, i really like it. Some in the club have commented that she tells the story in an old fashioned way but I much prefer the slow unfoilding and more formal structure of the novel plus wizards! Oh and it's by the late Ursula K. Le Guin

Alexander the Great by Philip Freeman is a bio of Alexander and if you know me at all, you know that I am and have always been an alexander-file. So far so good... lots of interesting little historical tidbits that bring him to life.

I want to share my longest Avengers: Steve/Tony fiction with you all.

’Til the end of the Line

Since Jenny is here, we have been watching Marvel movies to catch up and be ready for Avengers: Infinity War at the 3end of the month. Civil War made want to write some more Tony/Steve and I might do that later.
