9. A book you thought you wouldn’t like but ended up loving

Again, this one is a series and the series is Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling. I read one and was not terribly impressed. It was well written and a bit funny but still, it was pretty childish but the others I’ve read have been as well written and a bit more complex. Rowling, unlike most pop novelists, is actually a good writer and story teller and her books won me over. I’ve not read them all but I will.

10. Favorite Classic Book

Don Quixote by Miguel Cervantes

Alonso Quijano is the most endearing and wonderful hero that I’ve ever encountered as he and his ‘squire’ Sancho Panza set out to save the world and rescue Dulcinea, who he imagines is his princess. I cannot tell you what this story means to me. I loved poor Don Quixote, as he names himself, from the first. If one has to go insane, what is better than being a hero who saves maidens and fights monsters, even if they are only windmills? Alas, reality is harsh and is doubly so to the poor deluded hero…

It is a much deeper story and is very long but I urge everyone to read it once.
