Day 11 - A book you hated
May. 11th, 2013 09:01 am11. A book you hated
The Catcher in the Rye by J. D. Salinger
I disliked Holden Caulfield from the beginning to end. I did not identify with him and couldn’t see what all the hoopla was about. And I’ve actually read it more than one time. It has been called all sorts of brilliant things but it is a stupid and tedious novel written by an adult who thinks he can think like a teen and it’s been hailed by adults as a book that probes the teen psyche. Well, no, it doesn’t. It’s drivel and silly drivel at that.
The only reason that it still sells so many copies every year is because high schools still force people to read it.
