Summary: Sam thinks about Sookie.

A DOG’S BEST FRIEND

Sam Merlotte was in his dog form. He was over at Sookie’s house, just watching out for her. She sure seemed to need it, with all the strange creatures hanging around her all the time. He knew the vamps loved her because she was fae and the weres loved her because she was almost a member of their packs.

Why did he love her?

Because she was good. Sookie was one of the few people he’d ever met who was truly just a good person. She’d never condemned anyone for who or what they were.

He headed on home. She looked like she was tucked in for the night. He ran through the woods, his four legs moving faster than he ever could have on two.

Besides, she smelled so nice, the dog in him thought, just before he shifted into the Sam Merlotte that everyone expected him to be.

This and that

Okay, got my birthday Kindle but can't register it since we don't live anywhere near a wi-fi connection. Brother in law has wifi so we'll do it Sunday. I'm excited and nervous. I'm not very good with technology sometimes. Ask Larian! ;) Oh, any recs among the free or 99 cent books?

I am doing a bit of Elflords for Halloween. I have it written but not typed yet. I hope it comes out well.

I decided not to NaNoWriMo this year. Who has time in November with my birthday, thanksgiving, christmas coming up and Luin is coming to visit? March... maybe. I do think I'll revise my orginial story soon and do some rewrites. Maybe it could be publishable then.

I am going to do another drabble project for November. Back in April 2008, just before I tried to die, I was doing a 100 word drabble series about Samantha and Jack. I only got 9 done so I plan on doing 21 more in November.

I also have to do a Writer's Choice piece before the end of the month. I do wish we had more people doing them. I probably need to promote more.

I am taking the larger dose of gout meds still... not sure if they will work or not. I'm about at the end of my patience with this med. I have stopped eating beef, I don't drink beer, I seldom eat beans or dried peas and I eat very little shellfish and I still am plagued with it. There is a new med that someone has told me works well but my doc won't give it to me yet. Losing a week a month to this crap is getting old!
