You get some real art today.

I have loved Van Gogh's art since seeing a picture of Starry Night as a kid. And of course I loved the song "Vincent" when it came out. I got a chance to see Starry Night at the MOMA in the late 90s when Larry took us to NYC. I was so moved that I stood in front of it and wept. No piece of art has done that before or since.

My best friend is German and we visited her there for the first time in 2017. I saw many Van Goghs in the galleries in Essen, Berlin and Munich. It was wonderful. When we went back to visit in 2019, we all went to Amsterdam for a few days.

And they took me to visit the Vincent Van Gogh Museum! Oh my! It was wonderful and that is an understatement. As we were walking along, we saw the smallish painting of a skull smoking a cigarette. My late daughter was a gothy, cigarette smoking, art loving, headbanging wonder and Larry and I both thought of her immediately when we saw it.

It isn't mine but it was a favorite in the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam on our recent trip there. I've always loved Van Gogh's work and consider myself luck to have seen so many of his paintings including Starry Night at the MOMA. If you EVER get a chance to see them in person, GO!

You can actually find out where they are here: http://www.vggallery.com/index.html
