Day 6 - A book that makes you sad
May. 6th, 2013 09:32 am6. A book that makes you sad
The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
I knew going in that this one was going to be sad. How could it not? Time travel can never end well in books and yet I read this one anyway.
Let me backtrack to say that I do not read sad books. Life is too sad for me to use up any of my time reading a book that makes me cry as well. I do enough of that as it is. But I do not regret reading this book. It was quite beautiful.
The story is about a man who can travel through time and does it quite often but it is a rather random occurrence with him and it seems to have no real order to it. He visits the woman he loves throughout time, both backwards and forwards and the story is told from both their points of view.
Read it. It’s worth a few tears.
