Day 3 - Your favorite series
May. 3rd, 2013 10:39 am3. Your favorite series
The Southern Vampire Mysteries by Charlaine Harris
I started reading about Sookie Stackhouse long before HBO came up with its series. I had been reading Laurell K. Hamilton’s Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series for several years and happened upon one of the Sookie books by chance and right away, I loved Sookie’s wide eyed southern style. She was a regular girl except for that one thing: she was a telepath. Her world was just like ours except for one thing: paranormals were all around.
That was where the fun began: Bill Compton walks into the bar and grill where she works one night and changes her simple life forever and we get to ride along with her on her adventures with all sorts of beings: vampires, weres of several types, waitresses, demons, fairies and many just plain folk in the tiny town of Bon Temps, Louisiana.
The last book in the series is due out this month and I can’t wait!
