Movie
It came up twice on the word generator, a sure sign that this needs to be my word for the day. I love movies. Even bad ones.
When I was small, we did not go to the movies. I remember my daddy taking me to a movie about a lion when I was very small and I was with Mama and Daddy when they saw Goldfinger at the drive-in and I remember a great deal of the movie. I could have been more than 4 or 5.
The next movie I saw was The Jungle Book with Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day as a short film. I was entranced by Mowgli and all the animals. I still love them all these many years later. I also found out that Larry saw the same movie at the same theater and most likely on the same day as I did.
Since then I have seen thousands of movies from the sublime to horrid plotless porn and I still love most all movies. I am not the person you want to ask for a movie critique because I can name the few films that I totally hated on one hand. Blair Witch Project, Payback, Natural Born Killers… Despite what I told Larry, I didn’t really hate Con Air. *shhh* Don’t tell him.
I love epics: LOTR is the most epic of the epics. I love sci-fi… both serious and comedy. Who wouldn’t love Galaxy Quest? I love vampires… Dracula, Blade, Lestat. I even have a tiny fondness for Edward! I love chick flicks, My mom and I used to go to one almost every week… a matinee then home before Sara got home from school. I love movies made from comics. Constantine was gorgeous! I love children’s movies especially. I adore each and every Disney princess and certainly a Disney Fairy or two.
I love Star Wars. It is in a class by itself. I was 17 when it came out and I remember sitting in the theater watching those Imperial ships fly over Tatooine. I was utterly and completely lost. I’ve never lost that feeling either, no matter how many hundreds of times I’ve actually seen the original trilogy. I even like the badly made ones too… I can never get enough… never!
So if you want to know if a movie is good, don’t really ask me because I will love almost anything on the big screen! Anything but horror. There are some things that even I won’t watch.
