Welcome to the first Holiday Icon Swap! :)

The Holiday Icon Swap is for everyone and anyone who loves icons!

With the holidays coming up, our LJs need a little holiday spirit! The idea is to get everyone together who would like to make an icon gift and receive one in return. Tell about an icon idea you have in mind, and be surprised by what others might come up with! Beginners and experts with animated and sparkly icons or a simple lovely picture 100x100 - everyone is welcome to participate!
This is all about fun, being creative, and a little smile for the holidays!

So please join in and send in your sign-up form! :)

****************************************

The Holiday Icon Swap is based on a very simple secret Santa idea. You send me some ideas/information about an icon you would like. Once I have all sign up forms, I will shuffle them around, then send out one icon-'assignment' to each participant. You won't know who makes your icon and whose gift you create until afterwards! :)

****************************************

Here is an overview on some helpful dates:

October 29 - November 7: Please send in your sign-ups!

November 9: You will receive your icon-'assignment' by eMail.

December 8: Please send in your icon gift! This gives you four weeks to create it.

December 10: You will receive your own icon-gift right in time to use them for the holidays! :)

****************************************

Signing up is very easy. Please just tell about your icon idea, copy and paste it into an eMail, then send it to: doriath77@aol.com

Please add some details about the icon you would like to receive. Any ideas you have about it - Of course, it does not have to be holiday themed!*
(Examples: Dominant colors, seasonal themes, fandom (please include link if you think the fandom is not commonly known), actors, singers, writers, but also the mood of the icon (humorous/contemplative/artsy) etc.)

*If you would like an animated icon - please include an alternate non-animated version, in case your icon gift giver does not know how to do it. :)

Ripple

If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine
And my tunes were played on the harp unstrung,
Would you hear my voice come thru the music,
Would you hold it near as it were your own?

It's a hand-me-down, the thoughts are broken,
Perhaps they're better left unsung.
I don't know, don't really care
Let there be songs to fill the air.

Ripple in still water,
When there is no pebble tossed,
Nor wind to blow.

Reach out your hand if your cup be empty,
If your cup is full may it be again,
Let it be known there is a fountain,
That was not made by the hands of men.

There is a road, no simple highway,
Between the dawn and the dark of night,
And if you go no one may follow,
That path is for your steps alone.

Ripple in still water,
When there is no pebble tossed,
Nor wind to blow.

But if you fall you fall alone,
If you should stand then who's to guide you?
If I knew the way I would take you home.

A spam

This one just made me smile for some reason:

Violet Turner -- bowlegged

Reminded me of this little ditty:

I love to go swimmin'
with bow legged women
And swim between their legs...

It does not take much to amuse me.

OH can anyone tell me what character on what sitcom sang this... in the late 70s, early 80s?
