Wow! I have sort of been out of fandom this last year. I wrote a little and read a little but that was it. This year, I am trying to get back into it because I found that my anxiety is much higher when I don't write stories.

I am working on some STONY fic right now. It's based on an AU prompt in which both men are businessmen who meet randomly and have a fling and continue to do so until they begin to want more. I am not sure how long it will be... right now it's in the early stages.

I am also doing the [community profile] fan_flashworks prompts and loving them.

My newest thing is not fandom-y. I have returned to crocheting after a many years hiatus. I have discovered the joy of Youtube tutorials and am making all sorts of things: throw blankets, shawls, ponchos, hats and beanies, gloves, dishcloths and more.
Here are some of the things I've made: )

Challenge #10

Five Things! The five things are totally up to you. Post your answer to today’s challenge in your own space and leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

My 5 top fandoms in no particular order
1. Lord of the Rings - I really got into fandom big time when I got into LOTR. I had read the books when I was in high school and maybe once more since then, but I saw that they were making new movies and I needed to see The Fellowship of the Ring. I thought Legolas was the cutest thing ever and when I got home, I looked for Orlando Bloom and found a Legolas fanfiction site. From there I went on to write 400 or more LOTR works. I hosted the Yahoo Group LOTR Adult fanfiction and later Of Elves and Men fanfiction archive, which is now archived at Ao3 as a significant part of the fandom.

2. Babylon 5 - I actually did not watch the show on its original run. A girl I met on a CATS group sent me copied from TV VHS tapes of the entire series. Well, once I'd watched it, I was hooked. This was sort of LOTR in space, I guess. I got involved in several fangroups and helped run them and for years, did an update every 2 weeks of activity in the fandom. I also led several Dreamwidth rewatches. I ma thinking of picking the update site back up again. It's called [community profile] universe_today.

3. Holmes - This one is sort fo a multi fandom. My very first Sherlock was Basil Rathbone in old movies. He still LOOKS like Sherlock Holmes to me. Somewhere I was pointed to the Jeremy Brett Holmes series and I was smitten. Brett was the perfect Holmes, too. Holmes became a very popular thing and we got BBC Sherlock, Elementary and Robert Downey Jr. as Holmes. And of course, there is canon, which is wonderful as well. All are great in their own ways and all are fanfic fodder.

4. MCU - My second biggest/longest fandom. I always loved superhero movies though I was not a comic book reader at all. I don't remember the MCU coming onto my radar until we saw Captain America toys in Walmart when the movie Captain America: The First Avenger was about to come out. I didn't know who Chris Evans was but he was pretty so I went to see it. I was completely lost in that pretty face. We started going to the movies and caught up with Iron Man and such and then
The Avengers came out and I was a STONY shipper. I have not looked back. I am a Cap fan all the way. AND I do read comic books now!

5. Stargate: SG-1 - I liked the movie and I love the tv show. I didn't catch the first few seasons but I did catch up while it was still on. I've written a few SG-1 Big Bang stories over the years and am watching it on Comet tv now. I still love it!
