3 question meme - part 2
Jun. 16th, 2019 12:08 amThis meme has been going around lately, so I got these from

Classic tv - I was a kid the golden age of tv - the 60s. We had The Flinststones, The Andy Griffith Show, Gilligan's Island, The Monkees, Mod Squad. I loved television when I was a kid. I laid in the floor and watched it most of the time. I remember watching Star Trek every week with my daddy - he loved science fiction shows as much as I did. Mama was a Monkees fan.
Reading I don't remember learning to read. I don't think I could read when I went to first grade, but I think it must have been not long after. I have always read quite voraciously but when I write, I do not have nearly as much time for reading. I am still slogging along though. I love novels - love suspense, some fantasy, some science fiction, some romance, I also love to read about George Armstrong Custer and the westward expansion, Alexander the Great, and Elizabethan England.
Tolkien I remember when I was a teen, The Hobbit came out in paperback with a cute cover. I finally bought a copy and began to read it. It fit a place that I didn't know existed inside me. It was like a door opened to a mystical realm that existed INSIDE me. and then I found the Lord of the Rings Trilogy! I was transported to a land with unbelievable beauty and nobility. I felt like there was more than what we see when I read them... Um, I like Tolkien!
