SKIPPER’S BIG DAY

Skipper woke to complete silence. ‘How odd,’ he thought but he kind of liked the quiet. He rolled over and went back to sleep.

“SHHHH!” Private shushed the others as they brought the brightly colored boxes and the cake into the room. The boxes contained purple socks and fishy treats and a set of shiny keys they’d found. The cake was really a plate of ice cold sushi with a candle on the top.

Rico gagged and produced a lighter for the cake and they all gathered around Skipper’s bed and yelled “Happy Birthday!”

Skipper had never been so happy!
