#21 Tolkien

There is no real way to explain what three simple books have done for me. I found them when they were published in paperback in the US when I was in high school in the 70s. The Hobbit came out first and it sat on my shelf for some time before I read it then came the trilogy and I was totally entranced in a world with elves and dwarves. The movies brought me to the fandom and the fandom brought me here, to all of you...

And many of you are what I think of when I think of the professor... my friends.

#22 Doctors

The bane of my existence.

I dislike doctors intensely. I have always been terrified of them and after 6 weeks in the hospital and the mess they left me in, I also despise them. I have no idea why they think acting like Dr. House is a good thing but the trauma surgeons who butchered me acted just exactly like him, arrogant jerks who really needed to be taken down a few pegs.

I'm sure there are wonderful nice doctors out there. I have not really met any.
