You all know that I suffer from frequent gout attacks and the only med that gives me any relief at all is one called colchicine. I went to my pharmacy to get a refill yesterday and they simply didn't fill it and told my husband nothing when he goes to pick it up. So I assume they're out of it and called this morning. It has been discontinued.
Was it bad? Was if harmful?
NO! It was 10-15 cents a pill and had been helping gout sufferers for many, many years. The FDA decided to only allow one company to make it and to charge $5.00 a pill for the SAME MEDICINE!!! They said it was pre 1960's so they weren't sure it was safe, yet they are allowing it to be made for $150.00 a month to gout sufferers. Which means that I will pay $50.00 now insteads of the $4.00 I was paying.
Can you say drug lobby?
