This and that
Nov. 10th, 2010 06:17 pmThought I'd update a bit since everything has been so nuts here the last few days.
Our friend was buried Saturday and Larry seems to be okay but I think maybe I'm keeping him awfully busy. We haven't visted Pam yet but we did see their son yesterday and their son-in-law Monday. Pam has been very busy trying to figure out where Ronald kept business things and such. I may try to call her this evening or tomorrow.
We are cleaning up for Luin's visit and Thansgiving. We did the porch today and it looks nice with all the junk hauled away and things rearranged. That's one thing off of my 11 item list! Yay!
Anyone doing Yuletide? I really am not fond of that Archive they use... whatever it is, um, Archive of our Own. It seems to be the be all and end all of archives these days though I still prefer ours. Several have asked for self-upload but I saw what HASA spends and it's about 12 times more than I do and I can assure everyone that I won't be shoveling out several thousand dollars a year when I am the only one funding it. NOPE, not gonna happen.
I realize you all know what Steampunk Fashion is but have you read Steampunk Fiction? I am reading one called Soulless by Gail Garriger and I love it! It's sort of HG Wells meets Shelley (Mary) meets... maybe Mark Twain. Vampires and monsters and machines and the future and the past and Victorian England... it's so lovely. I suppose I have fallen in love with Victorian England anyway what with my crush on Sherlock Holmes in all his incarantions.
I do need to wind this up and make dinner and finish doing laundry. I also gotta get a shower and finish my Sherlock story and post a comment for this week.
Have a good evening!
