BOW AND ARROW
Elladan was gone to Mirkwood. His father had traveled to Lothlorien to meet with Galadriel and Gandalf. Erestor was on a picnic with Lindir. Valar only knew where Glorfindel was.
Elrohir was alone and he was lonely. Having a twin made being alone a rare occurrence. He decided to go to the archery range to kill some time. It never hurt to practice.
It looked as if he’d found the Balrog slayer. Glorfindel was standing in the middle of the range, notching and shooting one arrow after another, each and every one hitting within the tiny bulls-eye.
“Need some company?” Elrohir called out to him.
Glorfindel was so startled that he turned toward Elrohir and missed the target entirely though he almost his Elrohir. The odd thing was that he’d been thinking about the younger twin all afternoon. He found himself unexpectedly very fond of Elrohir. Very fond.
He looked at Elrohir, who didn’t seem the least bothered by the near miss. “Yes, company would be very good. I’ve been in need of your company for a very long time.”
“Oh, really?”
“Oh, yes.” Glorfindel set his bow down and hurried across the field to Elrohir. Elrohir smiled at him.
