MATCHMAKER

Kaylee was so happy to be with Simon that she wanted everyone to have a mate now. The only problem was there was no one to pair up.

Zoë just lost Wash so it was too soon to find her a man.

There was Mal, Jayne and River. Inara was talking about coming back but if she and Mal hadn’t managed to get together by now, it wasn’t likely to happen. Simon would kill her if she even tried to match River with anyone, even though River was not a child anymore. And Jayne, well who’d want poor old Jayne?

So what was she to do?

She looked at Simon and grinned. “I think it’s time we talked to Mal about getting a few new crew members, don’t you?”

“Why?”

“Everyone needs someone to love.”

Simon kissed her. “We have to let them all find their own, like we did.”

“I never worked so hard or so long for anything in my life as I did to get you.”

“See? Would you trade all that for a simple match made by someone else?”

“If I got you? I’d trade it in a minute.”

Simon pulled her close for another kiss.
