Blanchett again steps into queenly role
LONDON, March 13 (UPI) -- Cate Blanchett is preparing to start shooting her second go-round as Britain's Virgin Queen in a sequel to her 1989 film, "Elizabeth."
The film picks up 15 years after "Elizabeth" ends, The Guardian reported Monday. It touches on the relationship between Elizabeth and her cousin Mary Queen of Scots and ends on the eve of the Armada.
Geoffrey Rush returns as Sir Francis Walsingham, Michael Sheen will play his brother and Clive Owen will portray Elizabeth's lover, Sir Walter Raleigh.
Director Shekhar Kapur will be at the helm again when filming starts next month on location in Cambridge, Ely and in Shepperton Studios.
