Oh come, all ye slashers
Joyful and angst-riddled
Oh, come ye and sign up
To write some smut!
The Secret Santa Fanfiction Swap is pleased to announce the First Annual “Mistletoe in May” Fiction Exchange! As our motto says, “’Tis Always the Season for Slash.”
We are now accepting sign-ups for what we hope will become the first of many “Mistletoe in May” fiction exchanges. All stories will be published on the http://www.geocities.com/slashysanta/ site on May 24, 2006.
This exchange is open to all authors in ‘The Lord of the Rings’ and the ‘Anita Blake’ fandoms (Grinches need not apply). There are no restrictions on fictional characters or pairings. Whether it’s Elves, Hobbits, Dwarves, smelly Men, or Vamps that make your heart flutter and your palms sweat, spread the word, recruit your friends and fellow authors, sign up, and have some fun!
All levels of writing experience are welcome. First-time authors are encouraged to participate, as well as seasoned writers looking for a new challenge.
How does a fiction exchange work? It’s simple. Specify a pairing, rating, and the plot elements you would like to read, as well as the elements you are willing to write, and someone will create a story for you. In exchange, you will write a story for someone else using the specifications they provide. All stories will be submitted directly to the swap coordinators; you will not know whom you are writing for, nor will you know who has your request, until all fiction is posted on the Slashy Santa website on May 24, 2006.
Here are some important dates to make note of:
**Sign-up period: February 14 through March 1
**Assignments to be distributed: March 15
**Deadline for story submissions: May 17
**Publication date: May 24
There is no maximum story length, but we ask that all submissions be a minimum of 1,200 words. Please note also that this is a SLASH only, FPS only exchange (no RPS or het, please).
Visit our site http://www.geocities.com/slashysanta/ for the full set of rules and Frequently Asked Questions, and to access the sign-up form.
Please feel free to copy this message and post on any groups you manage or are a member of.
