Fan Fiction Appreciation Week
Mar. 12th, 2005 09:14 am My Top Ten Fictions
Today I will list ten of my favorite long stories and give links if they exist. They are listed in no particular order.
The Unspoken Arc by Runedancer: http://www.ofelvesandmen.com/StoriesbySeries/Fictional/Unspoken.htm
We met Gildor and learned that trees could talk... not Ents, trees. We met Erestor and found that giving pain was not only a good way to make a living but great fun too.
The Claimed Series by Brenda and Jo:
http://www.broadwriting.com/lotrrps/claimed.html
Vampire AU featuring Karl, Harry, David, Orlando, Sean, more! This series is simply put: Sizzling!
One Ring to Bind Them by Tyellas:
http://www.ansereg.com/One_ring_to_bind_them_series.htm
I have no words to tell you how much I like this story. Ansereg is a most interesting idea and concept and her Sauron will chill you to the bone. This is a must read about the fall of Eregion. It is not for the faint hearted... the warnings are there for a reason.
The Star-Crossed Series by Tyellas:
http://www.ansereg.com/star-crossed_series.htm
Another entry from Tyellas. This one I consider THE twins fic. I think my vision of the sons of Elrond was very influenced by this story.
Consequences by Sabriel 405(Jodi):
http://www.pommedesang.com/efiction/viewstory.php?sid=135
This is the best Anita Blake Fiction I have ever read. I actually like it better than LKH's! Her Anita is wonderful, capturing the same Anita that LKH writes in a very believable style. This is also a sad and moving tale.
Oak and Willow by Marnie:
http://www.elfringham.dsl.pipex.com/lotrfic/OakandWillow.html
Marnie is the BEST Celeborn writer that I have encountered. And this is one of her best tales, the tale of Celeborn and Galadriel. Be prepared to learn much canon and to fall in love.
The Elladan Series by Claudio :
http://www.elffetish.com/elladan.html
If you need a laugh OR to fall out of your seat laughing, read this. The page I linked to also has other Elladan features. Elladan's diaries are funny and sweet and guaranteed to change the way you look at elves forever.
Past Imperfect by Lobelia:
http://www.elffetish.com/elladan.html
A wonderful angsty what-might-have-been RPS featuring David Wenham and Marton Csokas. This one is in 3 parts and is worth the read.
Feral Form by Ezra's Persian Kitty:
http://www.libraryofmoria.com/glorfindelerestor/feralform.txt
A long short story or a short long story, this is an AU Errestor/Glorfindel pairing that just made me happy. EPK is a most excellent teller of the unusual anyway. (We are glad to host some of her stuff at OEAM now...we'd like to host this one *hint* *hint*)
If I get ambitious enough, tomorrow, I may post my top ten one shot stories. Do give these a read. They are excellent!
