A rantish type thingy... yeah
Jan. 30th, 2004 11:13 amIf you know me at all, you know I LOVE Marton Csokas. What's not to love? He's big and beautiful and everything he does just makes me sigh in happiness. You may or may not know that I have a nice little Marton list at Yahoo (groups.yahoo.com/group/adultmartoncsokas).
Well, I recently joined a new one... and I got a mail from a girl named Chris asking me if Marton is gay. Well, I replied that I honestly didn't know... and supplied little snippet from the idiot that directed xXx that Marton was dating one of the girls in the film at the time of the movie... blah,blah, blah.
So anyway, this girl posted the same question to the list. And I basically gave her the same answer and asked her why it mattered. She gets very indignant and said she coiuldn't have fantasies about a gay man. And from there, the melee is on.
Where do these damned DINOSAURS come from? What century?
And the same group of squeeing fangirls has invaded my list too...I don't think we will be having the gay discussion there. *smile* There have been about 40 posts in the last two days over such mentally stimulating things as '10 things i like about Marton' and 'what color is his hair,' etc.
I have thought about writing a bit of my slahsiest slash and posting it so maybe they'll hush. I am glad the list is doing well, don't get me wrong. I guess I maybe prefer deeper debate...but then again, I squeed over the screen caps of his bits in Suzie's Porter's grubby little paw.
Now, about the homophobia... that bothers me! It has always bothered me to have anyone picked on because they are not in the 'norm'. I say this because I was never in the norm: the chubby, smart, geekish, artsy chick who never had a date cuz boys are too cool for fat chicks and too dumb for brainly chicks. We all are what we are... period.
Now if I can just calm those sqeeing girlies at MY list...
