THE FLY CONCERTO

If he doesn’t stop playing that infernal violin, I think I might lose my mind. He can actually play the thing quite well but most of the time, he is playing one of his house fly concertos. I have let his flies go several times but he always finds more of them. He says it helps him think.

He also shoots at the wall. Or beats corpses. Or gives poison potions to the dog. Or gives himself a shot of his 7% solution then lies on the sofa, staring into space.

I suppose the violin isn’t so bad after all.

WINNER TAKE ALL

Alexander hated it when he got beat in the gymnasium, even when it was Hephaistion who beat him. He especially hated it when Cassander beat him, but that didn’t happen too often anymore.

His father only liked him when he won – no matter what it was he won. The King’s son simply was not allowed to lose. His mother didn’t care about anyone winning but herself and she’d use him if she needed to.

He threw Hephaistion to the floor and held him there, grinning.

“There! I won for him. Now you and I can go riding on my horse.”
