WINNER TAKE ALL
Alexander hated it when he got beat in the gymnasium, even when it was Hephaistion who beat him. He especially hated it when Cassander beat him, but that didn’t happen too often anymore.
His father only liked him when he won – no matter what it was he won. The King’s son simply was not allowed to lose. His mother didn’t care about anyone winning but herself and she’d use him if she needed to.
He threw Hephaistion to the floor and held him there, grinning.
“There! I won for him. Now you and I can go riding on my horse.”
