Day 23 - Music Monday

Did anyone see Inside Llewyn Davis? It was a wonderful little movie about a folk singer played by Oscar Isaac(Poe Dameron in the Star Wars movies) and this is one of the songs he sang. He is doing here in concert with Marcus Mumford, another wonderfully talented young man. The song is called Dink's Song or Fare Thee Well and is an old folk song.

Day 24 - Creative Tuesday

The only poem I can remember writing. Though I love it more than any other type of writing, i do not write it. This is from 1999. Of course, the tyger bit is from my favorite poem, "The Tyger" by Blake.

STAGE DOOR JOHNNY

rehearsal
friend of a friend of a friend of SOMEONE
meeting
shaking hands..hellos..hi’s
there he is
the way he moves-his legs, his hips
[tyger, tyger burning bright..]
shake hands - fire licks up my arm
crooked smile, arched eyebrow
“after this?”
I whisper “yes” breathless

hotel room
champagne
kiss-sweet..hungry..demanding
t-shirt in heap on floor
his skin still burns
buttons, zippers, hooks melt away
mouth to mouth
skin to skin
two pounding hearts
one perfect juncture
flames lick, blaze ,consume
