NOT WITHOUT HONOR

Galadriel looked into the mirror. She saw many things, more things than she ever told anyone, even Gandalf. Even he didn’t want to know all the things she saw.

She sighed and sat on the stone steps that led down into the part of the garden where the mirror sat. She’d had this gift before she crossed the ice, even before she had a mirror. Her uncle had laughed at her when she told him that an icy doom awaited many of the Noldor if they turned from the Valar and left Aman for Arda. Sometimes she wondered if her words had given Feanor the idea to let them all die in the grinding ice of the Helcaraxë. Even her own brothers thought her gift something to jest about. But they had stopped after crossing the Helcaraxë. They pretended that it did not even exist.

Here in Lothlorien, she was revered by all for her gift of prophecy. They held her up as something more than a mere elf, yet they feared her and her visions of the future. They feared the fact that she could see inside their hearts and minds. Hardly any elf in the city would look her in the eye.

She stood up and walked over to the bowl and filled it with clear water. Images began to form as the surface of the water stilled. To her, it was not a gift nor a curse. It was as it had always been. She simply knew.

Wow! Ten days in a row! Go me!

Another day of little real accomplishment but still not such a bad day. Got some laundry done and wrote a few more drabbles. Hubby and I went out for chef salads at lunch then stopped for some groceries then back home.

It's cold here but not like other places and we have no snow so that's a real plus! Got the heat fixed so now it doesn't run all the time.

Can't think of a lot to say today.

Here is a heart shaped potato we found once. The potato finally dried up but here it the photo for posterity!
