My challenge to fandom is to bring back the feeling of belonging to a community to fandom. Make friends with the people you 'meet' online in your fandom. Start communities and band together under a common interest - be it fandom, trope, whatever. Make fandom easier to be a part of, not harder. Fandom was always a little cliquish, but the last few years have made it even more so. Fans can counter that. There is no room in fandom for rejection and condemnation of things that you simply don't like. Don't like it? Move on. The artist or writer doesn't need your input or advice in that case, and they certainly don't want it.

For myself, I think I will try to interact with those on my friends circle here at DW more. I read a lot of posts and don't comment or say hi or anything. I will try, in the coming year, to do better.

A very hard same to a lot of this. I need to be better at interacting here, which is even sillier when I think about how cultivated my circle is (and how chaotic other platforms can be). Here's to fostering better fan spaces!

This is a great challenge! We all bemoan the lack of community, but it's really something we CAN do something about.
