Snowflake Challenge - Day 4
Challenge #4
In your own space, create some goals. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
Goals! Wow! Getting through the day is hard enough some days but here are some goals for this year:
1. Make some new fandom friends - maybe in the MCU fandom. BUT any fandom friends are also good! If we look compatible, feel free to friend me!
2. Write some longer stories. I have some ideas...
3. Hopefully I can get my scary surgery done this year. I need to lose about 15 more pounds. Argh!
4. Read some books. I write so much that I don't have time for reading.

I've done the Marvel bang a few times. What MCU interest is your thing?

I'm mainly hanging out over here talking about Agents of SHIELD. I enjoy most of the movies, but I have less fannish interest in them than I do with AoS. But take you're icon; I'm Tony/Pepper all the way and Steve/dying in a fire (though I would have grudgingly said Steve/Bucky until Endgame).

I personally found s5 to be frustrating too, and while it improves some on rewatch (especially knowing that at least one of the things that really annoyed me through the season manages to pull at least that ass out of the fire) I still wouldn't call it great.
On the other hand I loved s6...at the time. Even as it was airing I could tell that if it didn't stick the landing it was going to fall a bit in my ranking; and it didn't exactly stick the landing. How much it fell on it's face depends on whether I consider season 6&7 to be one continuous story. S6 has a stutter of an ending, not too bad but not as good as I'd have liked, s7 falls flat on its face and sucks donkey balls. I'm kind of pissed about it.
I've long since decided that about 75% of my interest in Coulson is because May loves Coulson (I do also enjoy his relationships with Fitz, Simmons, and Yoyo; that he keeps hanging around Daisy earns negative caring points) and I'm here for the May/Coulson times.

I really liked Rebels and Clone Wars. Clone Wars really fills the gaps in the prequel trilogy. I really liked Rogue One and liked solo but the new trilogy - OMG, what a train wreck.

I haven't watched Rogue One since it came out, but I remember enjoying it decently; and Solo was not as bad I thought it would be. Part of why I didn't seek out Mandalorian was because 'not as bad as it could have been' has been about the best I can say about this era of the franchise.

I haven't looked at the rest of your journal yet, but one way that I upped my reading for last year was audiobooks. If you have a commute or are able to listen while you're cleaning house or walking or anything like that, it's good! I found I really like audiobooks when they're nonfiction read by the author. (I just finished Obama's book on audiobook. My fave audiobook for 2020 was The Liberal Redneck Manifesto, because it was just like an extra long podcast.)
