A VALENTINE FOR SCULLY
“Mulder, do you really expect me to believe this.” She held out a pink teddy bear festooned with a bright red ribbon as if it were something quite obscene.
“It’s called a Valentine, Scully. People give them to other people that they like or even love,” Mulder said very patiently as if he were talking to someone of rather low mental acuity.
“It’s just a silly commercial holiday propagated by the candy and greeting card industry to make millions from gullible people like you, Mulder.”
“Whatever you say, Scully.”
She looked as smug and satisfied as she usually did when an X-file was easily explainable. But Milder knew better. He smiled, hand her the box of chocolates he’d bought to go with the bear and kissed her on top of her pretty red head.
“Whatever you say.”
He noticed that both left the building with Scully when she went home.
