THE FISHERMEN
Gil-galad pulled another fish into the boat. “That makes ten.”
“At least we will dine well. I grow tired of lembas.”
“I am surprised to find clean water near Barah-Dur.”
“They think we are in your tent, planning.” Lying to Thranduil bothered Oropher.
“Thranduil would not begrudge you a day away from your responsibility.”
“No but he would object to my spending the day with *you*.”
Gil-galad laughed and cast his line back into the water, finally saying, “I expect if he knew everything about us, he’d object even more strongly.”
“Indeed he would,” Oropher placed his hand over Gil-galad’s.
