Rambling fever

I shall ramble for a bit:

Anyone watching SGU? What do you all think? Please feel free to comment pro or con. I have to admit that I am not nuts about it. At all. Larry is less so than me. He thinks we should drop it from out watching list. It is almost as much of a trainwreck as BSG.

I was thinking about the Silmarillion and why it's such a small fandom. I have ideas. 1)There are some who are even Tolkien purists who do not consider it canon since Tolkien himself never published it. 2) It's a long, hard read for even the devoted. I read it twice and still never got much sense from it until I actually listened to it read. It was quite beautiful and the story flowed much better. I had a tendency to get lost in the names before. 3) Well, it wasn't a movie! Lots of folks never read the books until they'd seen the LOTR movies. 4) Tolkien gave everyone too damned many names!

What do you all like to read? I have always loved horror and suspense though I actually hate horror movies and suspense movies. Crazy huh? I also like vampire junk: horror, romance, fantasy. I have to admit I am sucker for Charlaine Harris books and Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plums.
I don't read really long books anymore because my eyes are not so good and I can't read much per day. I will make an exception for Stephen King's newest: Under the Dome. It's as long as It, The Talisman and The Stand, which were three of my all time favorite books.

I guess I need to go find out where and when Legend of the Seeker comes on and finish making dinner.
