A PACK OF DOGS
Alexander watched his men as they argued among themselves over something trivial. He said nothing but shook his head. He had a sudden vision of them fighting like this over his dead body. The fight wasn’t over anything trivial this time. They argued over the division of his empire, most of the known world.
He dismissed the thought as ridiculous.
He heard one of them, Cassander perhaps. “I tell you, my judgment is better than his and I say Greece should rule it all from Athens.”
He knew. They would fight like a pack of dogs over his carcass someday.
