Ruminations...
I came with Larry to band practice and am hanging out online waiting for some of Sarah's chocolate cake! Thought I'd babble on for a bit about this and that... if it gets too long and ponderous, I'll put it all behind a cut.
Some of you know that I've been spending a lot of time with Sara's best friend, Shina, and her boyfriend Randy. We rescued them on April 30 from eviction from their apartment in VA Beach. They moved in with Randy's dad and wife. They neither one have a driver's license and are jobhunting at the present time. Shina is about 5 and half months pregnant too. They're dear little gothy kids who are down on their luck and I try as much as I can to help them. Sometimes I get stressed out by the whole thing but I love them both and I know Sara would want me to help.
I got inspired this morning and did a darkfic about Feanor and a 50 Passages fic about Erestor and gardening shears! Hehe. Am also working on chapter 4 of The Arts of War. luin77 says she misses Donovan. Ummm, maybe I need to post a bit of it too. It feels good to write again!
I'm so excited! We are going to South Dakota in September and I get to seelarian. I also get to see Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, The saloon where Wild Bill Hickock was shot, Wild Bill and Calamity Jane's graves and maybe we'll get up into Montana to the Little Big Horn! Did I mention that I am a western history lover? I started out reading those Indian themed romances and then I began to read westerns, which I loved... it advanced to biographies and history books... I LOVE the old West. larian, are you bringing rhe Chexmix?
I have been reading MaryJanice Davidson's Undead series... Thankssabriel_0405 for sending me the audio versions of 1 and 4. They're really light reading but lots of fun! Betsy is an unempolyed secretary who turns into a vampire but not just any vampire. She is the queen and her adventures and misadventures are a hoot! I also read
Charlaine Harris' Grave Sight. I found it much more somber and dark than her Southern Vampire series. She has another one coming out in the series this fall. I still like Sookie better...she's the southern version of Anita Blake I suppose and I find I like her better than I do Anita though I am waiting anxiously for Danse Macabre to come out later this month. No one writes sexy vamps and weres like LKH. I suppose after I read it, you can expect some more ABVH fic from me!
Larry's new CD is about done... thankfully! He's been putting in some very long hours producing this thing. It's all Bluegrass Gospel and they've done a good job on it. Visit their website at:
Driving Five in a few weeks to see it. Hopefully Larry will get a few Wav. files up for listening to. On July 1, I will play groupie and trek with them out to the NC Mountains to a festival in Cullowhee, NC. If any of you are in the area, look us up. It will be nice to get out of the house and go farther than Walmart!
