I'm back...

Well, actually we got back Tuesday but I'm slow.

We had a lovely trip.

We went to visit Larry's old Air Force roomie, Tommy. Turns out that Tommy is also a good friend of [livejournal.com profile] jastaelf and we got to meet her too! I will post a picture whenever hubby gets it off the laptop.

We went to the new Air and Space Museum. It rocked. Even though I don't care for flying, I adore airplanes. They had wonderful stuff... including an SR-71 Blackbird! I wonder if one could slash airplanes? *Sigh* OOOh, and the Shuttle Enterprise... it was the prototype model that never went to space. Larry, Tommy and I spent an entire afternoon squeeing over planes... well, I squeed but they liked them too. (will post some airplane pics too)

We ate...gods, did we eat! We had Indian food, which I'd never tried but I liked it. We had Irish food, which was yummy too. We had prime rib that was yummy. Tommy made chops with gravy and biscuits for us! And Sally (Tommy's wife) made this delightful berry and cake creation that was to die for!

Went to a service at Tommy and Jasta's church too. It was lovely. Jasta has a beautiful voice!

Tommy loves languages and he and the fact that [livejournal.com profile] luin77 is German have inspired me to learn German. Bought a language course at B&N that he recommended and started it yesterday! So far, yes and no are my only two sure words!

Speaking of [livejournal.com profile] luin77, she will get here 3 weeks from today soooo I am going to be spending the next 3 weeks getting ready for her, along with [livejournal.com profile] larian, [livejournal.com profile] spacebee and [livejournal.com profile] rumil_of_lorien. We are hoping that perhaps [livejournal.com profile] jastaelf can make it down too. It'll be like a reunion! I am staritng on the spare bedroom today!

I am reading "A Separate Peace"... [livejournal.com profile] tallulahred inspired me to do this. It's been years since I read it. I don't remember liking it but its a beautifully written book. More later about it.

Anyone ever read Katherine Kurtz? What would you recommend?

I posted my first fic to [livejournal.com profile] fanfic100. It was an older one. I found about 10 that will be usable and I'll have to write the rest! I would say there will be lots of drabbles and short fics.

That is all.
