This week

I realized how little I've been online this week. I'm not sure why. Maybe I just need some Real Life for a change. Hubby was without his car this week so I drove him to work or to meet his ride most days. Sara left for the beach on Tuesday evening. I went into her room and began to clean! Cleaned house, washed lots of clothes...didn't write much though I thought about elves and Macedonians a lot.

Going to do a heph/alex fic for [livejournal.com profile] florahcan as a belated BD pressie and one for [livejournal.com profile] claudi007 for his BD too, Finrod, I suppose. Have some original things going too.

I watched movies this week...

Basil -- a period piece about a boy with a cold, strict father who grows up and is taken advantage of in the worst way. What made the movie good was the cast. Jared was Basil...and I LIKE him with a beard. Christian Slater does a decent job. Derek Jacobi is excellent also( I love this actor...)

Switchback -- Another Jared movie. This one was pretty good though fairly predictable. The cast was good. Jared, the least known, was actually the best. R. Lee Ermey was really good as the Sehriff. His was my favorite character. Dennis Quaid and Danny Glover are the big names and they're both good. Its a thriller about a psychotic killer and an FBI agent.

The Talented Mr. Ripley -- I probably should have seen this one years ago but I dislike Jude Law too much. Matt Damon was lovely as the diabolical Mr. Ripley but I did find the whole film a little fuzzy around the edges. I was surprised to see as Peter Smith-Kingsley, Jack Davenport, the lovely Norrington of POTC. I do rather wish they'd done a slashy scene with him and Damon. I find him very sexy.

Guess Who Saw this one in the theater. It has Ashton Kutcher and Bernie Mac. Ashton plays the white boy that Bernie Mac's daughter brings home, a sort of remake of 'Guess Who's Coming to Dinner.' I liked it. I can imagine my own hubby acting as nuts as Bernie Mac at anyone Sara brings home.

And now for the BEST one: SIN CITY Wow! It was black and white with color splashed here and there. It was a living, breathing graphic novel. Mickey Rourke stole the show. He was stellar as Marv, the man so ugly he couldn't even hire a hooker. I have NEVER liked this man but gods, he was good! Then there was Clive Owen. This man is just a delight for the eyes. Which leads me to Rosario Dawson and the women of Old Town, hookers to die for... gorgeous creatures that would make anyone drool. Rosario was butt-ugly in Alexander but she is stunning in this one... absolutely gorgeous. Jessica Alba...another stunner! And so many more... Bruce Willis, Elijah Wood, Josh Hartnett.... and more. The cars are as gorgeous as the women too. Its a tad long and VERY violent but I found a very good movie.

STAR WARS toys! Yes!!! The came out in giant wads this weekend. And I went shopping. Darth Vader, Anakin, Padme, Bail Organa, Obi Wan,Yoda and Mon Mothma! Yay for me! Two tiny puzzles and one big one. I cannot wait for this movie! I don't really care how hokey and silly it is... Luke, Leia and Han will always be special to me! At heart, I am really still a girl who wants to run away with Luke and join the Rebel Alliance!

Larry got his car back, Sara is supposed to come home tomorrow and school is back in next week sooo I hope things will gat back to normal... I have some vampires, some elves, some Macedonians and a pair of hot werewolves to get back to!
