Join Fandom 50 for 2024

What are you fannish about?

Why not post about all of them this year? This is a challenge to make fifty posts about fandom things. They can be whatever kind of posts you’d like - movie reviews, recs, a story about meeting a fellow fan, cosplaying … anything!
The challenge runs for a year (well, 11 months), so a pace of one post per week plus a couple would do it. .

If you’d like to do a theme, feel free. Some ideas:
♦ 50 fictional characters that I want to meet in real life
♦ 50 fanvid recs
♦ 50 television episodes that were lifechanging
♦ 50 fanfic plots I’ll never write

You don’t need to do a theme if you don’t want to. You can make fifty random fan-adjacent posts.

If you’d like even more structure or if you’d like to share your Fandom 50 with others, you can commit to the challenge by signing up.

My theme (optional): No real theme, I have a bunch of ideas for different things to talk about - media reaction posts, posts about characters I like, tropes I like, common themes in my favorite characters or canons, etc and want to incorporate some of each

Anything else people should know? Fandoms I'll probably talk about include Star Trek (especially Discovery), the MCU, Doctor Who, For All Mankind and The Umbrella Academy. Other things I happen to watch/read during the year may come up too.

I think this might be a really awesome way to see which fandoms I'm interested in every year, upon looking back later in life of course. But if I do 50 fandoms again this year, will it matter if there's any cross over with last year's list?

I did this last year, and I decided to make it interesting I would do most of the same topics but with the theme 'Everything is Murder' and make every previous topic murder-y because I like mysteries and detective stories. My theme: I started out to intending to do 50 stories with different Disney characters, but I'm not writing as much these days as I have in years past. That's actually NOT a complaint, because my personal life used to be SURROUNDED by fanfic. I had NO other life that I enjoyed, and now I'm making a life with my husband and actually doing a lot of other things. :) I'm moving up in life with a promotion at a tech company I'm going on being with for 3 years now, and I'm actually finding/making time to read and do other things as well as I've wanted to do for YEARS. And STILL writing enough to keep me happy! :) It's amazing what can be accomplished when you stop worrying about knocking out 50k every single month!

Anything else people should know? *shrug* Most of these are reviews this year, and one particular comic review comes to mind (X-Men #3), so... My views are my views? :)
