Fandom Snowflake Challenge: Day 4

Challenge #4

IceBreaker Challenge! Tell us about yourself. Post your answer to today’s challenge in your own space and leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

I'll break the ice with some random questions:
What were you most afraid of when you were younger? Do you still have that fear? Snakes... and I am still terrified of them.

If you had the choice to go back in time or into the future, which would you choose?
Future though there is a line in a Jackson Browne song that sums it all up - And while the future's there for anyone to change, still you know it seems
It would be easier sometimes to change the past.

What's something that you would be willing to stay up all night to do?
Being a woman of a certain age, that isn't such a big thing. I'd stay up all night to read, to watcha movie, to talk to someone who needed to talk...

Okay, some stuff about me:

- I grew up on a tiny tobacco farm in rural NC and I live a mile from my childhood home.

- I was obsessed with horses when I was a kid.

- I hated to be kissed on the cheek by old ladies when I was small.

- I met my best friend in an elf rpg online. Neither of us had ever played in one before.

- I am old but knew nothing of fandoms until I was in my late 30s and got the internet. I still have never been to a convention.

- The first fanfic I write was from the CATS video fandom in the late 90s.

- I have no tattoos.

- I thought vampires were cool before Anne Rice wrote about them.

- I'm 64 years old... ack when I see it, it looks old.

- I don't like liver.

- I sound like a country bumpkin when I talk. I do, however, have an English degree.

- I've been married since 1980, when I was 20.

I think that'll do it.

I'm actually not sure which I'd choose out of past or future, I just know I'd want to be sure there was the option of going back to my own time should I want to (I recently watched Dark, where people do get stuck in the past).

I feel this! 41 yrs old and I’ve got my degree in History/Creative Writing, but you’re never going to get the farm outta my speech patterns, or stop my trucker mouth.

I loved reading about you. I think it's cool that you've been married so long. I have too. 54 years for me. God, where does the time go. I can't believe I'm 72 already.

A tobacco farm!? That's fascinating. I get the "I sound like a country bumpkin when I talk," me with this goofy Minnesota accent of mine. Ja sure.

Sound like a country bumpkin, yep, that's me. I have a history degree with an English minor. :-)

Congrats on your long marriage :)
CATS fandom! It's so neat to read about what fandom started it all for people. And horses are lovely.
