I want to write a little about a hobby that I once had that I've kinda stopped.

Crochet.

I love making things with yarn and one of my goa=ls this year is to get back into crochet. nverland was kind enough to send me a stitch guide to help me remember HOW to do it and she posted a pattern I am wanting to try soon. I used to make afghans, though I'm not sure my hands OR eyes are able to do that. I am looking forward to some small projects.

Y'all got any favorite patterns, books, websites?

Ravelry. You can usually find free patterns there or links to the sites that have them. Plus, if you have trouble with a technique there's usually someone that can help. I know that YouTube has some instructional videos.

I use Lovecrafts. That's the British site but I think there's and American one to. They have free patterns as well as one's you can buy. I use it for knitting, but I imagine the crochet section is as good.

I used to do crochet, I loved it. One of my grandmothers taught me. Knitting too. My mother taught me. She was very good at it.

My aunt did both knitting and crocheting. She taught me basics and I took a crochet class and learned a lot.

I am in awe of people who can knit. To me, it's an arcane art that's tantamount to magic.

All I'm capable of are squares or rectangles, so a lot of dish cloths and scarves.

I can crochet afghans and when my vision was good, those little doilies made of cotton twine.

That's one craft skill I wished I had. I love seeing others' beautiful creations!

I've made gigantic blankets, never again (Karson has a king sized all pink cover). My favorite these days is just a granny square as big as I feel like.

My aunt made granny square afghans and they're actually very pretty. I'm thinking of making one.
