Snowflake Challenge - Day 9
Challenge #9
In your own space, celebrate a personal win from the past year: it can be a list of fanworks you're especially proud of, time you spent in the community, a quality or skill you cultivated in yourself, something you generally feel went well. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
This year has been hard for me, both personally and for my world. I sat here for a while thinking about this question and what I came up with was sort of what I didn't do as well as what I did.
I survived cancer again. This was not my accomplishment, per se, but it was the most important one.

That's one huge fucking win. Surviving itself is a huge win, and surviving cancer--AGAIN--even more so.
I'll offer hugs, tea, chocolate, and/or a weighed blanket, if any of these appeals to you.

And 2: it is absolutely your accomplishment, because if you gave up and did the whole failure-to-thrive thing, you would not be here reading this comment. I have seen people give up on themselves in the face of cancer, and neither of them made it. Please count the win, because that survival IS ABSOLUTELY your doing. Other people are allowed to help! That does not mean that this is not your win, in fact -
3: Having the kind of support network that helps you fight back against fear and pain and despair is it's own type of win!
Thank you for surviving. I am a fan of people surviving wack shit like cancer, so thank you for being part of my fandom!
