Saturday's person and thankful Sunday

MY person has always been my person - Hubby Larry. He is sometimes the bane of my existence. But usually, he is my best friend and more.

We met 44 years ago (oh god, so long) at college. He was fresh out of the Air Force and I was fresh out of high school. We were card playing buddies for quite a while. He started asking me out and I started making excuses. One day, I ran out of them and we went out. A month or so later, we decided we wanted to spend our lives together. We married the next year.

We've been through hell together and he's still here. We have the same core beliefs about morality and our world view but we are very different otherwise. We are both alpha personalities, which makes for some interesting clashes, but at the end of all things, we have each other's back.

I am thankful for him, for the person who fills in my blank places as I do his.

Here's to my hubby!

What an absolutely lovely post about your wonderful husband. I have great respect and admiration for couples who can weather tragedies and come out the stronger for it. Kudos to you and Larry - may you have many happy years ahead of you.

I envy you in some ways. DH is my other side, and I wouldn't want to be without him, but it seems like you and Larry have a relationship that's closer to what I've wanted with DH forever.
