Snowflake Challenge Day 5

Challenge #5

I write a LOT - thousands and thousands of words and what I wish that I could do is write one of those long, epic fics with its own universe. 25-30K is about it for me. I have no idea why I can't seem to do this... could be my natural impatience or my short attention span... but I'd love to be able to do an epic.

I love reading big 100k+ epic fics, but I seem to write best in the 10k word range. I have a friend who writes 400k novels, and can’t do short fiction nearly as well, no matter how much she edits things down.

What we like and what we’re good at don’t always match up, but there’s still plenty of people who like both kinds of works, so I figure it evens out. We all contribute what we can, and there’s room enough for all the writing styles.

I can't even imagine the wherewithal it would take to write an epic. Kudos to those that do. It must be a hard thing to want to do and not be able to for whatever reason. *hugs*
