Yahoo Groups Closing - Part 2

Our stories are, for the most part, already being put on Ao3 since I have had it in the works since March 2019 for Ao3 to archive the OEAM site. They are working on it now. The majority of the posts at all the Yahoo groups referenced in the last post were stories and those are taken care of. There are a few stories in the files at the groups but I asked at the time that people NOT put their work there since we had a website and an archivist.

I do NOT plan on saving all that stuff. It's too much and for at least the last 10 years is mostly just story hunts and announcements of fiction exchanges and such. I took a look at the ways to do it and the instructions are as clear as mud. It would seem that Yahoo can make it possible to download the actual posts BUT there is a long wait and I'd say they'll be gone before Yahoo gets around to it.

I have gotten a glut of emails from people wanting to join. If you were a member of the group before, i will consider it but otherwise, i simply don't see the point. They are MY groups and I see no reason to allow someone else to have all that information... indeed if there is any.

If you know of a simple way to download this stuff, tell me. I would like the photos from LOTR Adult fiction... some of them anyway.

There is a young woman from a preservation site that is working with the Open Doors/Ao3 people and she is going to download the three major ones I own. I looked into the software and thought I might give it a try as well for a couple that just mine that I used for storage and such.
