A bit late but its still Christmas somewhere.

"Here we know that Christmas will be green and bright
The sun to shine by day and all the stars at night"

Yesterday's was "I'll Be Home for Christmas" and it always makes me cry!

Since it's late and I am exhausted, I'll just send you all a big old hug from me to you:

alexcat: (Default)
"Please have snow and mistletoe
And presents on the tree"

Yesterday's were:
1. Let It Bleed by the Stones
2. You Can Call Me Al by Paul Simon

And here it is:

And a big hug to all!

Since no one got the last one, it'll be repeated along with a new one.

1. "There will always be space in my parking lot, when you need a little coke and sympathy."

2. "If you'll be my body guard, I can be your long lost pal."

"There will always be space in my parking lot, when you need a little coke and sympathy."

Two winners last night! Nienna! Keiliss! Your fics will come after the first of the year as soon as I can do them. :)

1. Desperado -- The Eagles
2. Suzanne -- Leonard Cohen and my version was sung by Roberta Flack but any version is good.
3. Norwegian Wood -- The Beatles

And hugs:
alexcat: (Default)
And If you get them all, I'll write you a tiny 500-1000 word fic.

1. "Freedom, well, that's just some people talking. Your prison is walking through this world all alone."

2. "And you want to travel with her
And you want to travel blind
And you know that she will trust you
For you've touched her perfect body with your mind."

3. "I once had a girl or should I say she once had me."

And yes, the last one was Jungleland by The Boss. That man's voice sends chills through me every time I hear it. He makes me feel wistful.

And a hug for all of you who've stuck through this. Maybe I'll count up who got the most right and write them a fic too! :)

"Outside the street's on fire in a real death waltz between what's flesh and what's fantasy."

Yesterday was Steely Dan and Reeling in the Years which I just happened to hear on my car radio today.

And hugs:

"The things that pass for knowledge, I can't understand."

Yesteday's song was The Sounds of Silence by simon and Garfunkel.

The three-fers, which no one got all of, were as follows:
1. Elton John _ Daniel
2. NIN - Closer
3. Tom Petty - Refugee

And your hug of the day is from Sesame Street:

Easy Peasy

"The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls."

Since I did not remember to do my lyrics the last three days... you get 3 today and anyone who gets them all right without looking them up gets 300-500 word ficlet from me. Here we go.

1. "Your eyes have died, but you see more than I."

2. "Help me, I've got no soul to sell."

3. "Somewhere, somehow, somebody must have kicked you around some. Tell me, why you want to lay there, revel in your abandon?"

The last song was Carolina in my Mind by James Taylor.

And the hug:

alexcat: (Default)
"There ain't no doubt in no one's mind that love's the finest thing around"

Yep, it was a Randy Newman song and it's I Think It's Gonna Rain Today. The version I know is Bette MIdler's. No one is as divine as The Divine Miss M!

"Broken windows and empty hallways
A pale dead moon in the sky streaked with gray"

[ profile] keiliss was the only guesser yesterday and she got it right!
Question by The Mooduy Blues.

alexcat: (Default)
"In the grey of the morning my mind becomes confused, between the dead and the sleeping and the road that I must choose."

And yes, yesterday's song was Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls. It was featured in City of Angels, one of my favorite movies.

And a sweet hug:

Song time!

Another favorite and it's EASY too!

"You can't fight the tears that ain't coming, or the moment of truth in your lies. When everything seems like the movies, yeah, you bleed just to know you're alive."

Yesterday was indeed the Eagles and Already Gone. Told ya it was easy!

And the hug of the day:

alexcat: (Default)
"So often in time it happens, we all live our life in chains, and we never even know we have the key." This one is EASY!

Neil Young is brilliant and this song appeals to the flower child/space cadet in me. So sad and hopeful at the same time. Here is a 1978 live version of After the Gold Rush.

And your hug:
alexcat: (Default)
This is one of my favorite songs of all time.
"I dreamed I saw the silver spaceships flying in the yellow haze of the sun. There were children crying and colors flying all around the chosen ones."

Here is yesterday's song: Woodstock. Joni Mitchell wrote it but the version I am more familiar with was this one by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.

And your hug!
alexcat: (Default)
"Maybe it’s the time of the year or maybe it's the time of man, I don't know who I am, but you know life is for learning."

And for this morning... Ozzy singing Iron Man, which some of you got!

And the hug is a CAT hug tonight!

alexcat: (Default)
This one was for yesterday. I will post the answer and today's song tonight...
"Nobody wants him, he just stares at the world. Planning his vengeance, that he will soon unfold."

Okay, many of you got Friday's song... I'm on Fire by Bruce Springsteen and here is the song. I chose this one because it is simply Bruce singing.

And here are your hugs:
alexcat: (Default)
"Sometimes it's like someone took a knife, baby, edgy and dull and cut a six inch valley through the middle of my soul."

This one is just begging for songfic!

And now... several of you got the Artist(s):
Bob Dylan and the Byrds both did it. No one got the name. Actually I knew the song too but not the name.

My Back Pages is the name. Very oddd title I think.

[ profile] jaiden_s, you're just too young to appreciate Dylan and The Beatles like us old folk! ;)

and your hug:

alexcat: (Default)
"I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now."

Remember, no cheating!

Yes, yesterday's song was Elton John's Rocket Man.. a song with some of the most misunderstood lyrics of any song I know:

Rocket Man, burning up the trees on every lawn.

Real Lyric:

Rocket man, burning out his fuse up here alone.

And here's your virtual hug to those of you who commented:
alexcat: (Default)
I give you a line --

Give me artist and song title.

"Mars ain't the kind of place to raise your kids
In fact it's cold as hell"

EDIT: Answer will be posted with tomorrow's lyric and your prize will be a virutal hug from me. ;)
EDIT #2: Oh and don't cheat! :)
