Just this
Every year since Sara was killed, Larry and I have given a small art award to the art student at Surry Central High School who best promoted art in the school. We did this because Sara had such big plans for the Art Club and the Art classes for her senior year.
Every year, we have been contacted by the art teacher with the students’ and her choice for the winner and Larry would present this award on Awards Day. This year I emailed the art teacher, since she never got in touch with us, with plenty of time for her to contact me and let me know who the student was so we could order the plaque. I sent the email to the address she used last year.
She never even bothered to contact me at all.
I know this means NOTHING to her but we are both hurt and insulted by this. We did this, not for the glory of the school but to honor our only child and to honor a child who loves art as much as Sara did.
