Summary: Maglor starts his day.

SUNRISE BY THE SEA
Maglor sat in his small house. He did this often. He did this almost all the time, actually. He feared going out, feared being recognized, reviled. He knew he deserved any punishment he got but he was a coward.
He looked at his flute. It had lain there for many years now without being played. It was covered in dust but otherwise the same. He ached to pick it up and play it.
He looked at his hands. They were scarred and gnarled, his fingers barely bending.
He rose and went to the window. His small thatched roof house faced the sea. He had chosen it as a reminder of what he had done, what he had lost.
The sun was about to rise and the sky was pink. He sat without moving until the sun was a large yellow ball above the horizon.
He rose and, with his stiff hands, he added a few logs to the embers in his fireplace and set his kettle over the fire to heat. He warmed some leftover honey rolls from last evening and poured the hot water in his cup. He sipped his tea as he ate.
Then he began to hum.
