Is fandom mean?

Is it? Maybe those of you who have so much trouble are just not at the right place. OEAM and our Yahoo groups are nice and friendly. If there are trolls and meanies, all anyone has to do is tell me and they're gone. I don't put up with junk like that. That is not why I am online. I am here for friendship and a place to share my itty bitty bits of fiction. Oeam began as a haven for those who were tired of fandom wars and snarky listmates and I hope it still is.

Now if you come for adoration and/or worship, OEAM is probably not the place for you. We seldom discuss how to write for days on end; actually we never do. We are not elitist and we never will be. Which is not to say that we don't have some of the best writers in the fandom. We do. Our archive features some of the breakthrough writers in LOTR fiction, people you won't find elsewhere. I am very proud of that.

So if you're looking for a good archive and nice people, join us. We'd be glad to have you.
