ROYAL PURPLE

Oropher stomped to the tent’s entrance. He had come to argue with Gil-galad yet again. He had no idea why he agreed to this alliance.

“Come in,” Gil-galad yelled.

He stepped into the well-appointed tent and began to laugh. His laughter grew until he doubled over and held his stomach.

“You have never seen an elf in his stockings before?”

“Purple!” Oropher said and laughed even harder. Oropher bent over and pulled up his robes to reveal his own purple stockings.

Gil-galad began to laugh too.

“Perhaps we *can* learn to work together. We know one another’s darkest secrets now.”

OUR SONG

Orophin smiled as he came in sight of Imladris, sure that he heard the sweet strains of a perfectly played violin.

He thought back to the last time Lindir had played for him several years ago. They had decided to court one another then and since then, many letters had passed between the two elves. Their love had grown.

It *was* the same song. Lindir ran down to meet him. Orophin slid down from his horse as Lindir threw himself into his arms.

“Promise me you will play that song every day for me?” Orophin asked nervously.

“Forever,” Lindir answered.
